mirror & panels
further images will be added soon
This multipart mirror work using panels was initially inspired by the artist Ellsworth Kelly (1923 - 2015). The arrangement of the units in the first image directly references his classic series of fourteen
paintings from 1971. Further images with alternative colours and compositions will be added soon.
This version is in three parts - a polished edge mirror mounted on oak wood with two monochrome square panels in green and black oil paint. All the constituent parts have split battens on the reverse so they sit flush to the wall. They can also be reconfigured as desired. Further panels may be also added in different colours to greatly expand the range of display options.
The mirrored panel is exactly three times the length of one square panel. It has an extra batten on one short side enabling it to hang in either a landscape or portrait format. Additionally the painted square units have an extra short batten, so they in turn may also be displayed in a diagonal format.
This mirror has seven optional, additional panels. Six are coloured, painted in acrylic, and one is faced in polished brass. Pages showing these will be added soon.
This work is unique, however further examples can be constructed to different sizes, proportions and colours. This design is ideal as a basis for bespoke commissions as it can be made for display in a specific location, be it domestic or corporate. Remember as a bonus the individual units can also be added to, configured, and rearranged by the owner.
Each unit is stamped and signed on the reverse.
For a commission based on this design please allow around six weeks from the date of your order.
