The panels follow the 1915 composition by Kasimir Malevich shown here. Malevich was a huge influence on many artists including the Minimalists in the 1960's.
The black panels are hand painted in acrylic, and the mirror panels are in 4mm silvered float glass with polished edges. The four panels are set in hand finished ash wood frames with a white stain and lime wax finish.
The face on the tray frames is only 5mm wide and each one has an integral split batten on the reverse for secure, flush hanging on the wall. The panels can be displayed as shown or may reconfigured as desired. Each unit is stamped and signed on the reverse.
