gold quadrant mirror no.1
The Quadrant mirrors are a series of unique pieces inspired by the artist and designer Max Bill (1908 - 1994) who was a student at the Bauhaus under Klee and Kandinsky.
Gold Quadrant No.1. is the first to use a tinted mirror. The mirror is a 4mm gold backed glass panel with polished edges. This is mounted in a hand tinted solid ash frame featuring a minimal 5mm face. The grey/brown tint, specific to this mirror frame, was achieved by layering coats of dye and tinted wax. The mirror is complimented by four hand painted plywood panels in artist's acrylic.
Here we used two colours - pink and orange with each tone hand mixed individually. This mirror is unique.

The frame has split battens on all four sides for easy wall mounting. It can also be removed and rotated as desired. The format allows the mirror to be displayed in a square or diagonal orientation on the wall. The Quadrant Mirrors offer a striking and original focal point to a room.
