trira : triple shelf mirror
This unique triple mirror with a shelf has been constructed in beech and walnut with hand painted post and lintel strip facings. It is named after
its inspiration, a painting titled
by the American artist Brice Marden (b.1938). It is in the collection of the Centre Pompidou, Paris.
Along with our other shelf variations this mirror was conceived to display small ceramics, objects, sculptures and candles.
consists of three joined units with a single slim shelf at the base. Three strips of wood were joined together to make the shelf; two in beech and a central one in walnut. Together they form a lateral stripe. The three frames and shelf have contrasting walnut plugs on all visible corners. As with all our mirrors this one was constructed, finished and painted by hand.
The colours used on the twelve strips are by Farrow & Ball. This mirror is fitted with split battens on the first and third sections for secure, wobble free hanging.
This mirror is part of our own collection and is on display at our London studio. W
