N2 mirror (red on oak with orange)

This mirror is the first variant of a commission we made for a study in a Clerkenwell flat. The N1 mirror was white poplar with graphite, this version is red strips on an oak tray frame with an orange interior.

The mirror retains the spiral formation of the first one but we made the strips narrower - 6 x 6mm. The gap around the  floating 4mm mirror with polished edges has also changed, this version is 15mm.

The mirror is inspired by the work of Donald Judd who used panels with strips in his wall sculptures.

We used Farrow & Ball colours on this mirror. The strips are Incarnadine and the interior is painted with Charlotte's Locks.

The mirror has integral split battens on all four sides so the mirror can be displayed in either landscape or portrait. The battens are raised slightly so the mirror frame appears to float on the wall.

This unique mirror is signed and dated on the reverse. Should you wish to have one made to order based on this design use the button below to get in touch. These mirrors can be made in different woods with alternative base and interior colours. We would be pleased to discuss your ideas and answer questions.
