study for angle (yellow & red)
This is a study for a second variant of the modular mirror in green and black which has now been sold. This multipart mirror work using panels on oak was inspired by the American minimalist painter Ellsworth Kelly (1923 - 2015).
The arrangement of the three units in the image directly references his classic series of fourteen Chatham paintings from 1971. However we added a third painted square when constructing the new mirror - this greatly adds to the ways the mirror can be displayed.

Who's Afraid of Red, Yellow and Blue, it is currently on display at our studio. This is a good illustration of how a concept can develop, how variants can grow from an initial design and the flexibility of our approach.
It follows that we welcome commissions based on this design. The colours, size, wood and number of units can all be made to order for a particular location to contrast or harmonise with the decor, furnishing and art works. Contact us using the button below for any enquiries.
